About the Authority

The Mokelumne River Water and Power Authority (Authority) was established in 1990 to enhance the reliability of water resources and provide power generation capacity for the region.

Formed as a joint power authority, member agencies provide input to and advise on the Authority’s policies and practices through participation at regular meetings of the Mokelumne River Water and Power Authority.

The Authority is working to complete the phased planning process for the MORE WATER Project. More
